People are getting COVID from people who have COVID, but have no symptoms, or are not showing symptoms yet.

The CDC updated the definition of a “close contact” to someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, 2 days before specimen collection in those with no symptoms)).

Per the CDC, if you have been in close contact, stay home until 14 days after last exposure and maintain social distance (at least 6 feet) from others at all times. If you have been diagnosed with COVID, stay home, separate yourself from other people and seek medical care when needed.

Please protect yourself, your loved ones and our community by socially distancing, wearing masks when around others, washing your hands often, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and watching for symptoms.
